The AILA joins the more than 50 airports around the world in which American no longer conducts cash transactions, including, next to the international airports of Punta Cana and Puerto Plata, the Miami International Airport, the John F. Kennedy International Airport of New York, Curaçao International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport, among others.

Currently, American offers direct flights from Santo Domingo to the cities of Miami (MIA) and Philadelphia (PHL), and from the summer of 2019 it flies directly to the airports of Dallas / Fort Worth (DFW) and Charlotte Douglas (CLT).
