Sberbank raised interest rates on all ruble deposits by 0.15-0.5 percentage points (pp), according to a report received by RBC. The range of rates at the end was 3.4-5.15%.

At the same time, the bank launched a new ruble promotional deposit "Record" with rates in the range of 6.5-7.15%. It can be opened for a period of seven months to one and a half years.

Natalya Alymova, director of the banking department lending and saving, explained that the decision was related to the increase of the policy rate by the Central Bank and to market trends.

The last time the bank raised the interest on deposits on August 24, this was the first such decision since December 2014. Since January 2015, the rates have gradually decreased.

VTB decided to raise rates for two retail deposits, said VTB Bank Senior Vice President to RBC Yulia Demenyuk. "As of today, we have decided to increase the rates for the Max and Online Maximum promo deposits, which is dictated by macroeconomic factors and market conditions," she said, citing the rise of the Central Bank as the main reason.

"We are of the opinion that there is now more demand for promos and the problem of attracting and saving money from depositors is very important for our bank, in which case it was decided to only charge the rate for them by an average of 0. , Increase 6 percentage points, "Demeniuk added.

On 14 September, for the first time in almost four years, the Central Bank increased the policy rate by 0.25 pp to 7.5%, due to the strong fluctuation of the ruble exchange rate. In December 2014 the percentage was increased to 17%, in the following years the Central Bank lowered it.
