Volkswagen introduced a new compact pick-up with a double cab

The premiere took place at the International Motor Show in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Volkswagen Tarok is designed for emerging markets. It will be smaller and cheaper than the Amarok model and will be available next year according to the Brazilian media. The series model is promised to be built on the same basis as used by Tiguan. This is an MQB platform with a transverse engine and a multi-link rear spring.

Volkswagen Tarok has a double cabin for five seats with a special folding rear wall, which can be expanded to increase the load area. It looks like this:

The concept is equipped with modern digital tidy and a huge touch screen, which makes it convenient to manage all options of the machine. Under the bonnet a 1.4-liter 150-headed four-cylinder turbo engine that uses pure ethanol or petrol-ethyl mixture. Automatic six-speed gearbox, disc – permanently full.

The model was fully developed by the Brazilian brand department and was prepared for the local market. But VW has already said that a pick-up can become a global model.
