2017 Power Rangers the film may not have set the world on fire, but has gained some goodwill with the fandom sections. If we continue with that continuity – especially considering the teasing of Tommy Oliver at the end – it remains to be seen, but Hasbro and Paramount Pictures are certainly trying to keep the franchise going.
Recently it was revealed during a financial call to discuss the future of the company that Hasbro's CEO, Brian Goldner, revealed that Hasbro and Paramount Pictures are, at the moment, in talks to develop a new film based on the intellectual property of Power Rangers. What has not been mentioned and is not known at the moment is whether this new film would have any relation to the 2017 film, published by Lionsgate.

Again, while 2017 Power Rangers the film has its fans, the film was not what you would call a box office hit. Considering how much the big studios look at dollars first, it is not surprising that a sequel is not under active development at the moment. So with this in mind, it would be understandable from the point of view of the study if they wanted to start over. At the same time, it was not one The Lionsgate film has long been running, so maybe it would be better to continue with a new beginning that had already found some fans.
But this is all speculation at the moment. The only news to report is that Hasbro and Paramount are talking about a new film by Power Rangers. That's all. If it continues with what the previous movie started or starts all over again, nobody knows.
