"Luxor Cinema of Africa" ​​announces the details of honoring the Tunisian cinema on the sidelines of the "Carthage Days"

During the Carthage Film Festival, the direction of the Luxor Festival of African Cinema announced the honor of Tunisian cinema in its eighth session in March 2019, in the presence of festival director Sayed Fouad and festival director Azza Al Husseini.

A meeting was held between the African Film Festival of Luxor and the National Center for Cinema and Photography in the presence of its director Dr. Shiraz Al-Atiri and Dr. Tarek bin Shaaban to discuss all the details of this honor. A cooperation protocol between the Luxor African Film Festival and the Center should be signed as a national body. The Tunisian cinema will be represented next month.

The details of the initial honor are summarized in the publication of a book on the Tunisian cinema of the third millennium by dr. Tarek Ben Shaaban in French and Arabic, while the National Center for Cinema and Photography will participate in the screening of the most important films that represent the Tunisian cinema throughout its history. The most important films of the Tunisian cinema and the screening of five films in a special section to honor the Tunisian cinema at the eighth session of the Luxor Festival of African cinema, in the presence of a large delegation of Tunisian filmmakers including the working group Carthage Film Days, directed by producer Najib Ayyad, OR the Carthage Film Festival, and Dr. Lamia Qiqh artistic director of the festival, as well as directors of the five films to be presented at the Luxor African Film Festival, in collaboration with the Center National for the Cinema and the image.

In addition, a special symposium will be held on Tunisian cinema, which will publish a special issue of the Tunisian film industry, the role of the National Center for Cinema and Photography, the Carthage Film Festival in the Renaissance of Industry, the participation of Tunisian films in all competitions and the invitation to producers to participate in the events.

The direction of the Luxor Festival of African Cinema has confirmed that the selection and the honor of the Tunisian cinema is a worthy tribute to a serious and long-standing cinema, as well as to an important festival such as the Carthage Film Festival.

The eighth edition of the Luxor Film Festival, organized by the Foundation for Young Artists from 15 to 21 March 2019, will be held under the auspices of the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, youth and sport, DMC, film syndication and the National Bank of Egypt.
