Liam Gallagher was brought to the attention of the police after an alleged altercation with his girlfriend at a nightclub in London.
Agents said they had been informed of images published by the Sun, which had an incident that was "consistent with attack".
The newspaper reported that on 9 August the CCTV showed the former Oasis singer with his girlfriend, Debbie Gwyther, at the popular meeting place for celebrities the Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone.
Gallagher later denied having attacked her in a post on social media. Gwyther has claimed that Gallagher attacked her and said the couple just "rummaged"
