The MIND Diet – translated as the English "mind" in English means "mind" – is designed to promote memory and strengthen our gray cells. It was developed by American researchers to prevent neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia. But what can one eat – and what not?

According to a study with 923 participants, those who followed the MIND diet even had a biological reminder 7.5 years younger than those who fed otherwise. Study participants were on average 81.4 years old and completed a memory test once a year during the five-year study period.

Do you have experience with dieting?

The MIND diet contains ten recommended and five prohibited foods. The ten "good" foods are:

  • green leafy vegetables
  • nuts
  • beans
  • Whole grains
  • berries
  • fish
  • poultry
  • Olive oil and
  • wine

It is even possible with the latter one glass per day to be. However, what followers of the MIND diet rarely or rarely eat are:

  • Red meat
  • Butter and margarine
  • cheese
  • Pastries and sweets
  • fried food and
  • Fast food
