CLINTON – Dementia is a group of symptoms that describes how a person navigates the world. Their minds are slowly going back in time. Often, they can have moments where more current information is recalled, but for the most part, they really live in the past.

Find out more about dementia through a series of free educational courses offered by Elizabeth Heard, Certified Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Trainer at The Alverno Senior Care Community.

The first class of the series will be from 5:30 to 19:30. Monday to Winter, 849 13th Avenue. North to Clinton. This lesson will focus on "Basics of dementia: what families need to know". Additional classes will follow throughout the year.
