Kamen – A minibus from Poland collided with a truck on the A2 at Kamen on Monday morning. All eight prisoners were seriously injured in the accident. A kilometer-long traffic jam arose for the Kamener Kreuz.
According to the first findings of the police, the 41-year-old driver of the minibus drove at 4.30 am on the A2 towards Oberhausen. After he had passed the Kamenerkruis, he pushed unaccountably from behind against a truck that also drove to Oberhausen.
The minibus clung to the rear of the truck and was pulled along for about 100 meters before both vehicles came to a standstill. The impact wounded all eight occupants of the minibus.
30,000 euros in property damage
Two co-drivers, a 58-year-old and another previously unknown Polish citizen, came to nearby hospitals with serious injuries.
The motorway had to be closed to Oberhausen for about an hour for the duration of the accident registration and rescue work. Only two hours later, only one of the three lanes was free.
The police estimated the scale of the material damage to be about 30,000 euros.
