A wind powered fire burned on Thursday afternoon between 8,000 and 10,000 acres in the Newbury Park area of Ventura County.
The fire, called "Fire Hill", originated around two o'clock in the Hill Canyon area of Santa Rosa, while a large part of Southern California is under a red flag.
More than 165 firefighters were currently on the scene, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. Eight air tankers help to put out fire.
