He swore together to kidnap a 14-year-old girl who raped her husband for 9 months and will be released within a few days.
This is Wanda Barzee, the wife and henchman of the kidnapper of the young Elizabeth Smart, whose business shocked the United States in the early 2000s.
"I would urge all competent authorities (…) to review the situation, to look at the facts, to their mental state and to determine whether they really believe that this woman is no longer a threat", this week, Elizabeth Smart spoke in statements to the media.
"I really think it's a threat, it's about a woman with six children, and still a conspiracy to kidnap a 14-year-old girl and not just sitting next to her while she was being raped, she also encouraged her husband it will continue to violate me, "said the young woman, now 30 years old.
Nine months of Calvary
Elizabeth Smart was abducted in June 2002 in her own bed in the city of Salt Lake City in the state of Utah.
That night a man entered his room and woke her with a knife in his throat: if he did not go with him, he would kill his entire family.

His sister, 9 years old, witnessed that moment.
His kidnapper was Brian David Mitchell, a tramp who had hired Elizabeth's mother on one occasion to make arrangements at home.
The little girl was taken to a country house and Mitchell forced him to "marry" with him through a Mormon ceremony.
From that moment, for nine months, his kidnapper did not stop abusing her for "revelation of God" and with the cooperation of his wife, Wanda Barzee, according to the victim's disclosure, once released.
They kept her in captivity under inhuman conditions and forced her to use drugs and alcohol.
The case attracted a lot of media attention and the young woman could escape that hell when a citizen saw her walking with her captors just three kilometers from her house and warned the police.
"I saw myself as his slave"
Mitchell was sentenced to life imprisonment and his wife to 15 years in prison, which must be on September 19.
It is a situation that Smart is worried about.

"What if I think it's dangerous? Yes, but not just me, I think it's a danger and a threat to vulnerable people in our community," Smart said this week for the media.
"Our community should be worried."
Barzee "I saw myself as her slave (…) there were times when she was being manipulated by him (her husband), but there were also times when she abused me as often as he did," Smart remembers.

On the other hand, the young woman confirmed that she believes in "forgiveness" and that it is not her job to determine whether her kidnapper has paid for what she has done.
"If he really did, he would probably have to be released, but that (deciding whether justice was done) is not my role."
Smart was able to rebuild her life after what happened and today she is a prominent activist to defend the victims of ill-treatment and missing persons.
