Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp appear to have been criticized by the former head of Manchester United
Jose Mourinho seems to have made an excavation to Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp questioning the approach of younger managers who seem to favor style rather than substance.
Mourinho, speaking a month after being sacked by Manchester United, defended his style of play after criticism of his supposedly defensive methods and did not resist a blow to the hosts of Tottenham and Liverpool.
United did not get any results or winning some entertainment awards in the last months of Mourinho's reign at Old Trafford, but insists that he still deserves to be classified along with those managers considered to be serial winners.
And, in doing so, Mourinho seems to have impressed Pochettino and Klopp, who have been praised for bringing a great football to the Premier League – but they are still without English trophies among them.
"It's very easy to play well" and not to win, "said the Portuguese while working for beIN SPORTS.
"It's very easy to be behind a certain idea of a certain football, without results, but the people who win constantly have a different idea about it.
"If you talk about Guardiola, if you talk about Ancelotti, of those to whom I obviously belong, who have a long career of victories, where are the young people with a real impact in terms of results? Where are they?"
The legend of Man United says that Solskjaer is "in pole position" for a permanent job
The full year of two and a half years of Mourinho as United coach was a huge disappointment, with the Red Devils who expected to get great results when the Portuguese was hired.
However, the former head of Chelsea has only won two trophies – the Carabao Cup and the Europa League in 2016/17 – and has never managed to lead United to the long-awaited Premier League title.
Nevertheless, Mourinho thinks that the greatest success of his career has been entrusted to the Red Devils, guiding them to the second place last season.
He continued: "Sometimes we comment on what we see, but we do not know what's behind the scenes and what we see, I think it's fundamental.
"If I tell you for example that I consider one of the best jobs of my career (was) to finish second with Manchester United in the Premier League, you say" This guy is crazy – he won 25 titles ".
"But I keep saying that because people do not know what's going on behind the scenes.
"Sometimes, from this side of the camera, we analyze things from a different perspective."
