FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –
They do not know how it got there, but some take it as a sign – a large cross washed ashore on a beach near a hotel in Fort Lauderdale.
"I felt really heavenly," Greg Gay told the WSVN. "It was a moment in time: if we had been 10 minutes earlier or 10 minutes later, we would not have seen it. & # 39;

Frank Talerico, the owner of the hotel where the cross landed, said it is a sign of protection. He said his sister had prayed on the hotel grounds on Saturday morning after being frightened by a bad dream. Hours later the owner said that the cross appeared.
The cross is made of painted wood and is covered with barnacles.
It was so heavy that seven people and two off-road vehicles were needed to remove it from the water.
Some believe it came from Puerto Rico or the Florida Keys, reported WSVN.
Wherever it came from, Talerico said the cross is not going anywhere.
However, Homo wants to know where the cross comes from. The Michigan man told WZTV: "That is the most important thing for us, is to find out what kind of journey this thing has made."
