BOSTON (AP) – Officials say a student has been stabbed in a bathroom in Boston high school and another student has been arrested.
A spokesman for Boston Public Schools said the stabbing took place during a fight at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Washington Irving Middle School in the Roslindale neighborhood of the city.
The wounds of the injured student are not considered life threatening.
No information about the students involved has been published. The school serves students in the sixth to eighth grade.
The school was placed in safe mode after stabbing and the lessons continued.
The department has sent behavioral crisis counselors to the school to work with students or employees who need support.
