The eagles will face Dez Bryant soon after as former Cowboys WR reported to Segni

The most unfortunate thing about this offseason was the anti-Carson Wentz feeling that developed among some fans.

With eagles about to move from Foles, you feel every conceivable reason that eagles should keep the Super Bowl MVP of 2017.

Carson is not efficient. Carson does not throw at large receivers. Carson spins the ball too much. Carson did not play well against good teams.

You can make a valid case for eagles to keep the Foles if you stick to the facts.

But much of what we continue to read regarding Wentz's 2018 season is simply not true.

With this in mind, here are 10 myths of Carson Wentz dissipated.

Myth No. 1: "The crime worked much better with Nick at the quarterback."

Reality: In reality, the defense did. The Eagles averaged 22.9 points per game this year with Wentz at the quarterback and 22.1 points per game with Foles at QB. Defense was another story. During the 11 games played by Wentz, the defense allowed 23.3 points per game. During the seven games Fole started, the defense allowed 18.1 points per game.

Myth n. 2: "Nick took the ball for the wide receivers, Carson simply unloaded it."

Reality: Last year Wentz actually completed a slightly higher percentage of its steps for the largest receivers: 45.7% for Wentz and 45.4% for the Foles. Essentially the same.

Myth n. 3: "Nick took the ball on the field much better than Carson!"

Reality: This year Carson averaged more than half a meter per attempt compared to Nick. Carson finished the season at 7.67 with Foles at 7.07. Including the last two years, Foles is closer but the numbers are similar – Carson at 7.57 and Foles at 7.16.

Myth n. 4: "Carson turns the ball too often, Nick is very careful with the ball."

Reality: Wentz had seven interceptions and nine fumble (losing six) and Foles had eight interceptions and four fumbles (losing two). So Wentz played 724 shots and turned the ball over 13 times and Foles played 476 shots and had 12 balls lost. Wentz averaged one business trip every 55.7 plays and has one for every 39.7 plays

Myth n. 5: "Nick was late for games, Carson was not."

Reality: Wentz was actually the eighth highest fourth-quarter passer-bye on 36 QBs that launched at least 50 fourth-quarter passes to 102.4. Foles ranked 33rd on these 36 quarterbacks with a pass-through of 67.5 in the fourth quarter.

Myth n. 6: "Alshon did not work until Nick got the upper hand!"

Reality: Alshon averaged more yards per catch with Foles – 16 for catch compared to 11. But five of his six touchdowns came from Carson, and he actually averaged more catches per game with Wentz (4.5) than Foles (3.9 ).

Myth n. 7: "Carson can not throw the ball deep like Nick."

Reality: Nick throws a big ball deep, but Wentz actually had 16 completions of 30 yards this year or more than the Foles nine. This is one every 25 attempts for Carson and one every 30 attempts for Foles.

Myth n. 8: "Nick has really moved the chains better than Carson".

Reality: Carson launched for 163 first downs against Nick's 89. That is 14.8 passing first low for game for Carson and 12.7 for Nick.

Myth n. 9: Carson has built his statistics against the bad teams. Nick was much better against the winning teams.

Reality: Carson was actually sharper against the winning teams. Nick completed 67 percent of his passes against winning teams for 298 yards per game with seven TDs and six interceptions for a score of 89.6 passers. Carson also completed 67% of his passes against winning teams for 307 yards with 10 TD and four INTs and a 92.9 passer rating.

Myth n. 10: "Well, Nick was more consistent than Carson."

Reality: In reality it was not. Seven of the eight highest Eagles passport ratings this year belong to Carson, and five of the seven lowest ones belong to Nick. Here is the chart:

122.2 … Carson Wentz to Giants
