West Virginia Tax Collections Fall Below Estimates - WOWK

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – The income collections of West Virginia have not surpassed the tax estimates for the first time in 10 months.

Government Jim Justice said that the Tuesday collections in January were $ 3 million below the estimates, due to the weaker than expected monthly income tax for individuals.

Total collections during the first seven months of the financial year amount to $ 40.9 million over revised estimates. Justice says he expects the surplus to grow until June 30 of the fiscal year.
