Georgia joined the No. 2-ranked recruitment class Wednesday when ESPN 300-wide receiver George Pickens, the number 54 ranked prospect in general in the ESPN 300, turned from Auburn to the bulldogs.
Alabama lost a number of promises to rivals on the day of signing, but that did not matter. It still had one of the best classes ever.
The day of signing has come and passed. Here's everything that went down, including commitment video's for seven ESPN 300 players who made their decisions.
Pickens gives Georgia 16 ESPN 300 commitments in the classroom.
Pickens was devoted to Auburn in 2017, but he did not sign up in the early signing period. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound recipient of Hoover High School (Birmingham, Alabama) visited Georgia, Miami, Tennessee and Auburn before making his final decision and signed with Georgia.
It is a big addition for Kirby Smart and its employees, because in October they lost a commitment from the top receiver in the classroom, the five-star Jadon Haselwood. Haselwood signed with Oklahoma and left Georgia in search of an addition to the recipient.
Now with Pickens in the classroom, Georgia has ranked 10 engagements in the top 100 of the ESPN 300. Within those figures, defensive end Nolan Smith and attacking lineman Clay Webb are both ranked as five-star.
