YMCA Roundup: Ys unveils expansions in Indiana, New Jersey and North Dakota – Club industry

The $ 29 million, 125,000 square feet Lafayette Family YMCA, Lafayette, Indiana, is scheduled to open on December 6, the Journal & Courier recently reported. In addition to the standard facilities, the facility is remarkable for offering veteran services, free work training, dental services and automotive services. These offers are made possible by the partnerships of Y with Franciscan Health, Ivy Tech Community College, IU Health, Junior Achievement and Intersection Connection, the courier reported.

The Somerset Hills YMCA, Basking Hills, New Jersey, broke up on September 2 for a two-storey extension of 14,000 square meters that will expand the wellness center and add three new multi-functional studios, one new indoor cycling studio with cascading levels, one renovated multifunctional room and larger toilets. The project has a value of $ 7 million and is expected to be completed in June 2019, the Y announced.

The Altru Medical Fitness Center, Grand Forks, North Dakota, closes its Columbia Road facility on October 1 and merges services with local Grand Forks YMCA, the Grand Forks Herald reported. The center promotes wellness and rehabilitation for the public, in addition to providing specialized care for people with chronic diseases, making it a natural fit for the Y, Altru Health Administrator Jill Wilson told the Herald. The two organizations join staff and determine price models for memberships.
