After the car got stuck on the Chelsea bridge, the operators suspended

A car was stuck on the Chelsea Street Bridge on Thursday evening and the service operators on duty at the time were suspended, according to the State Department of Transportation.

The bridge, which connects East Boston and Chelsea, has a range that can be elevated to allow ships to navigate in Chelsea Creek.

The vehicle was caught "between the security doors on the bridge," the agency said in a statement.

No one was injured in the accident, which was reported for the first time by Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra.

"Although fortunately no one has been injured in this incident, the failure of operators to intervene on the basis of safety procedures guarantees their immediate suspension", MassDOT said in a statement.

The agency does not know any other cases where a car is stuck on the bridge "and is continuing to investigate how this could have happened," says the statement.
