Alexander Isak At the airport, the BVB jewel experiences the next humiliation
| Reading time: 3 minutes
Alex Isak came to BVB with great expectations. But the storm talent can not prevail among the fourth coach. The 18-year-old experienced the provisional layer at Dortmund Airport.
AIn the beginning everything looked normal. Alexander Isak drove to the local airport with the Borussia Dortmund delegation. He marched with his teammates through the railings of journalists and fans in the direction of the departure gate, it was the usual procedure for an away match in the Champions League. But when the plane that transported the BVB stars to Belgium was picked up, Alex Isak was not on board. He had to turn around outside the gate and go home. What a humiliation.
The fact that the 18-year-old Swede is not part of the team that the Westfalen has reported for the Premier League was known. His position with the new coach Lucien Favre is not very good, until now Isak was only used in the regional team of BVB.
On Tuesday, he would have to collect more match exercises in the Youth League, the descendants of the Premier Class. Immediately before departure, however, it was already clear: the European Union Uefa has withdrawn the eligibility for Isak, a use in Bruges is not possible. "After Uefa and DFB had given the green light, they returned to Belgium shortly before the flight", said the BVB. Instead, Isak now plays in the Regionalliga on Tuesday-evening against Wuppertal (19.30).
Isak has not been in the vicinity of BVB long enough
Behind it is the age regulation of the Youth League. According to the rules, only players who were born after 1 January 2000 are eligible. In addition, up to five young kickers, born in 1999, can be reported. However, these players have had a contract with their current club for at least two years. Isak, born on 21 September 1999, however, only came to BVB in January 2017 and is therefore not in the club for long enough to play in the Youth League.
At that time, the club had transferred more than eight million euros to Solna. The speech was about the "next Zlatan Ibrahimovic", a potential successor of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and one of the biggest storm talents in European football. In fact, Isak graduated at the age of 17, his first international competition, shortly after setting the record for the youngest goal-maker in the history of the Swedish national team in the 6-0 draw against Slovakia. On the other hand, he never really got hold of the BVB.
Isak is arguing with his situation
Favre is now the fourth coach from Dortmund who prefers other strikers. Neither under Thomas Tuchel nor under Peter Bosz and not under Peter Stöger did Isak prevail. His BVB-record reads very mixed after 20 months: a total of 280 minutes of play is spread over 13 missions, except for a goal in the DFB Cup at 5: 0 against Magdeburg the 1.90-meter Schlaks did not pay much attention.
"He first had to get used to the men's team, if you're dealing with an ox like Papa Sokratis, it hurts, he has to learn that first," ex-Borussia Nuri Sahin suggested some adjustment problems of the technically minded, but physically often too weak attacker. These problems continue today.
"I know what I can do, it is not the level at which I see myself," said Isak recently in an interview with the Swedish newspaper "Aftonbladet": "But I can not complain." Episodes like those at Dortmund airport perhaps not helpful in the case of Integration of the alleged Sturmjuwels.
