Reportedly, Bayern Munich is monitoring the progress of Manchester United's 21-year-old goalkeeper, Dean Henderson.
There is a sense of change in the mentality of young English players, many of whom are beginning to leave their nation to progress elsewhere. The Bundesliga has become the main destination for many British teenagers after witnessing the success stories of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson. Bayern Munich, meanwhile, has also turned its attention to England to help with their rejuvenation team.
To die Roten tried their best level to buy Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea in January. Bayern made four bids for the 18-year-old winger, but Chelsea was not in the right mood to separate from the talented English talent. It was also said that Bayern was interested in Rabbi Matondo before the Welsh younsgter signed a move for Schalke last month.
According to ESPN, Bayern are paying close attention to Manchester United's teenage goalie, Dean Henderson. The 21-year-old shot-stopper is currently on loan to Sheffield United. This report suggests that the Bavarians face Juventus competition and some Premier League clubs at the goalkeeper's signature.
Manchester United delivered a new two-year deal to Henderson shortly before becoming part of Sheffield United in the summer. The Red Devils see Henderson as their future number one goalkeeper and will do all they can to keep him at the club.
Henderson will have to wait for his chance at Manchester United, however, since David De Gea is likely to remain the first-choice goalkeeper for several years. His consistent performance could force United to become the club's number two goalkeeper, however.
Henderson was the main reason for Sheffield United's fantastic defensive record this season. His previous loan to Shrewsbury Town was also quite impressive. The teenager is well known for making crucial rescues using her agility and her reflexes. The tremendous talent and potential of Henderson made him one of the leading candidates for England's number one among the sticks.
Manuel Neuer is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world and still has a few years of high level play. His last two years have been ruined by injuries, though. Neuer will remain a key element of Bayern's team for the foreseeable future, but the German club must start planning now to find his replacement. Henderson has the potential to be a great goalkeeper, but this signing will be tough for Bayern because of United's confidence in the teenager. Not to mention the excellent Christian Fruchtl – just 19 years old – who is waiting behind the scenes to have the chance to put his claim into play as Bayern's next big goalkeeper.
