Villa team news

Tammy Abraham starts against Blackburn Rovers with Steve Bruce and makes three changes to his Aston Villa side.

The 20-year-old striker came from Chelsea on the 31st of August with the claret and blues and is in the starting XI with Bruce in a desperate need for points.

Villa was overplayed in each of their last two games with shameful defeats at Burton Albion and Sheffield United took away the shine which seemed a reasonable start.

Bruce's side has not won in their last five games and has one of the worst defensive records in the championship after only six games.

The manager has dumped his Mile Jedinak experiment and switched Axel Tuanzebe to the middle of the back. Manchester United lone man Tuanzebe starts his first league game for Villa in his natural position after a stint at full-back.

Neil Taylor comes back with left back and Alan Hutton returns to right back. Albert Adomah, who was almost a member of Middlesbrough last month, replaced the Dutchman Anwar El Ghazi broadly.

Jedinak will operate on his defensive position in midfield and Jonathan Kodjia will fall on the bench to meet Abraham in Villa's 4-1-4-1 formation.

Villa XI: Nyland; Hutton, Chester, Tuanzebe, Taylor; Jedinak; Elmohamady, McGinn, Grealish, Adomah; Abraham

Subs: Moreira, Bree, Hourihane, Whelan, El Ghazi, Bolasi, Kodjia
