The Ivory Coat international performances last season helped the Eagles overcome the worst start in Premier League history to preserve their top flight status with room for maneuver.
Zaha was regularly connected with a transition to London's rivals Tottenham and Chelsea during the summer, but remained in south-east London and assured that Roy Hodgson's team was awarded his race on Saturday, scoring the second goal in a 2-0 victory for Fulham to Craven Cottage.
Asked about the speculation surrounding him this summer, Zaha said: "I just had my head down and it was not something I was involved with.

"We knew we could not get impatient, and we just had to stay fit and take our chances.
"We are simply taking all the matches as they are, the main thing is to run our chances because we have a breakthrough in our team and we can counterattack the sides."
