Ferrari does not look for a way to hide camera insights in the car. Recently the Scuderia masked the camera onboard the Formula One Management (FOM) by placing a mysterious bag of dry ice on the camera when the car was parked in the garage or the grid.
Although it was claimed that this should cool the car and camera electronics, but the competition believes it wanted to avoid unwanted insights on the wheel and its settings.
Because all teams get access to the recordings of all vehicles, it would be advantageous for Ferrari, if the competition does not know what the drivers are driving.
Cool bags are no longer allowed
Of course, because the FOM was not happy that Ferrari blocked the camera, the FIA informed the Scuderia before the race in Italy that the cooler bag was banned with immediate effect.
In the starting position of Monza Ferrari then tried with a screen to obscure the view of the camera.
For the upcoming Grand Prix of Singapore, the team came up with a new solution and was seen in the garage with a new airbox cooler. This cooler is designed so that it also hinders the camera in their view.
Presumably Ferrari will claim that it works in the same way as the coolers of the other teams.
However, it is probably no coincidence that it is shaped so that the camera does not get a view of the handlebar when it is attached to the vehicle.
