The Brazilian has had a promising debut against Leicester on Friday (Picture: Getty) Paul Pogba has praised the summer signature Fred and believes that the two can make a solid partnership in midfield after the Brazilian made his debut with Manchester United.
Despite training for only a few days – with Pogba returning to Carrington on Monday after his exploits at the World Cup – the two players joined together in a 2-1 win against Leicester City.
Pogba started the perfect start, drawing from the penalty spot in three minutes, while Luke Shaw drew the decisive second goal late.
Although Pogba admits that there is still a lot for him and Fred – as well as for the young Andreas Pereira – to work on, he is happy with their first outing together and the potential that their partnership has.
When asked about his connection with Fred, Pogba told Sky Sports: "We started OK, I would not say it was the best game, but of course it's normal.

"And even with Andreas, very young, he demonstrated his skills today.
"But to be honest, I feel very comfortable [Fred] and with the rest of the other middle medias. I feel like we will be very happy with Fred this season. "
