Virgil van Dijk has played a major role in Liverpool's up the Premier League table over the past 12 months following his big money transfer from Southampton.
Much was made of the Dutchman's £ 75million move to Anfield last January, yet he has proved value for money.
Liverpool's defense was seen as a major weak spot under Jurgen Klopp but now they look solid in defense thanks to Van Dijk.
The ex-Celtic man is now with some bookmakers to claim the PFA Player of the Year award before the season is out, with teammate Mohamed Salah the second favorite.
The defender's performances have also seen pundit Chris Sutton is a Dutchman to play in the Premier League.
"Van Dijk," replied Sutton without hesitation when asked by Robbie Savage on BT Sport's Saturday Morning Savage program.
However, former Arsenal youngster Steve Sidwell was not having any of it.
"Dennis Bergkamp all day long," said the former midfielder.
Plenty of Arsenal supporters and fans from all over the country are in agreement with Sidwell that Bergkamp is the best player to get from Holland to the Premier League.
Signed by Bruce Rioch in 1995 from Inter Milan, the attacker proved to be a major hit at Highbury.
