News from Arsenal: Unai Emery rekindles the interest of Jean-Philippe Gbamin in an attempt to solve the problem | Football | Sport

Arsenal has struggled with his back in recent seasons, even if he failed to make a good race to help.

They tried to sign Gbamin from Mainz last summer, but their offer for the 23-year-old has failed.

The only signing of Arsenal in January came with Denis Suarez, who was brought on loan from Barcelona.

But Emery is ready to make permanent purchases this summer as she continues to put her stamp on the Gunners.

IS Express Sport he understands that the Spaniard will return to Gbamin when the summer window opens.

Gbamin is wanted by a number of Premier League clubs that have impressed in Mainz since he arrived from Lens.

A critical point could be the Ivorian tax.

It is believed that Mainz wants £ 40 million for Gbamin with Emery set to have a budget of 45 million pounds for the summer.

But the tax can be lowered if Gbamin wants to go out, with him admitting that he is ready to move on.

"Basically I feel ready for the next step and I can well imagine starting a new chapter," he said recently.

"Through my results, I have made the clubs aware of myself, where I see good chances to go to this next phase of my personal and sporting development.

"At the moment I give 100% to Mainz and I am very satisfied with how much we have improved.

"What will happen after the season, we have to wait and see.

"I took the development I had hoped for myself.

"The first season was a year of apprenticeship in an unknown league. In the second year, I was able to put into practice what I learned so much better and show what I really can do.

"That's why I went to Germany, but I can promise that it's not the end, I'm convinced of my abilities and I'm still improving!"

Arsenal's last game saw them win 2-1 at Huddersfield on Saturday and the Gunners are the only Premier League team to keep a clean sheet away from home.
