Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez have played disappointing seasons at Manchester United (Photo: Getty) Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes that Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez are ready for a "decisive season" at the club.
Pogba had a frustrating campaign last season and found himself out of Jose Mourinho's XI in February after a disagreement with Portugal in Red Devils' Carrington training base.
However, Pogba returns to United with a medal to the winners of the World Cup and Mourinho hopes that the French will return from Russia to the Premier League.
Sanchez, meanwhile, managed only three goals in all competitions after joining United in January, but the Chilean is confident of a strong start after a long summer break.
Despite losing 19 points to Manchester City last season, Owen believes Pogba and Sanchez have the potential to turn his former team into title challengers.
"The Red Devils finished the second last season, but I do not think they will emerge as realists contenders or neighbors, the city's biggest challenger for the title this season," Owen told BetVictor.
This is a potentially crucial season for the great players of United, Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez and, in fact, for manager Jose Mourinho. & # 39;

"I can not remember the last time I had a break and a long vacation", he said the striker to the official United program.
"It served me well to rest, to clear my head slightly and become stronger for the season.
"I've already started out, it's been years since I had a pre-championship like this, and I hope to be fit to face Leicester.
"The first four or five months were a learning period, now I want to go all the way, I want to fight for everything, and I am mentally and physically preparing myself to face all that lies ahead.
"Now that I know my teammates, I can concentrate on what I want to win. I'm here to prove the quality I'm here for. It's time for United to win more trophies. We must fight among the best. "
