Olivier Ntcham has signed a new contract with Celtic that keeps the midfielder with the club until the summer of 2022.

The 22-year-old is a solid value on the side of Brendan Rodgers since he joined Genoa in 2017 and already has five goals this season.

In the summer, the young midfielder was at the heart of ruthless transfer speculation, with West Ham and Porto strongly committed to making substantial offers to the player.

However, this new four-year contract should confirm to some extent that the player deliberately wants to stay with the club in the near future.

"I am delighted to extend my contract", said 22-year-old Celtic TV. "It's good news and I hope we'll win more trophies, it's a great side and I'm happy to be part of the project.

"Having a strong bond with the players is very important for the team and for the club, I feel good here and I hope that we will win more trophies and that we will be even more successful this year than last year.

"I want to improve everything related to the game, and scoring more goals is of course part of the game and is also important to me."
