Paris Saint-Germain has predicted the XI to face Man Utd in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16

The Paris Saint-Germain will face Manchester United in one of the most exciting ties to get out of the Champions League draw in the last sixteen.

When it was announced in December, Paris was the favorite, but United's ten-man series in 11 games with provisional boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer means that things are different now.

A penalty by Edinson Cavani gave the PSG a 1-0 victory over Bordeaux on Saturday, extending the lead at the top of the Ligue from 1 to 13 points, but the match was not without consequences.

Cavani and Thomas Meunier were both forced to suffer thigh and head injuries respectively, while Marco Verratti was disqualified for 59 minutes on his return to the first team.

So, with some big names listed as major doubts, as well as the main man Neymar has already ruled out, how could he deploy Paris against Man Utd at Old Trafford on Tuesday?

What are the stars of the PSG?

Neymar, who scored 20 goals and 11 assists in just 23 games this season, suffered a foot injury on January 23 and has to face a long term on the bench.

At the beginning of this week, the Brazilian world-wide was spotted on crutches in Barcelona while undergoing a plasma treatment rich in stem cells and platelets.

Adrien Rabiot has become the forgotten man in the French capital, but let's not forget that he made 50 appearances in 2017-18, when Paris regained the championship title.

However, the 23-year-old's refusal to renew his contract led him to be ostracized by manager Thomas Tuchel and is now training with reserves.

Which PSG players are more dubious?

Meunier and Cavani are both doubtful of recovering in time for the Paris trip to Manchester and, despite his return, Verratti is also another question mark.

The Italian maestro lasted only 19 minutes in the 9-0 of the PSG Guingamp, last month, before leaving the injured, and Saturday marked his first exit from.

After Paris 1-0 Bordeaux, Tuchel said: "Without Neymar, without Marco Verratti, and now without Edinson Cavani, we are no longer looking at plan B, but plan D."

How could Paris take sides in Man United?

Those who followed the 2018-19 campaign in Paris under Tuchel will know that the former coach of Borussia Dortmund has used three systems: 3-4-3, 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3.

As Gianluigi Buffon played against Bordeaux, it is likely that the World Cup winner, Alphonse Areola, will be back in the ranks for the French champions.

Juan Bernat and Layvin Kurzawa will compete for left-back, and Tuchel may have little choice but continue to line up defenders Marquinhos and Dani Alves in central midfield.

Cavani's thigh injury and the absence of Neymar means Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, relegated to Stoke City last season, is ready to join the dangerous Kylian Mbappe in attack.

Paris is even more than able to beat Man Utd, but their wounded crisis is in stark contrast to the Red Devils, who rested Victor Lindelof, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford at Fulham.

Chris Smalling is back after two months of absence and United will have the opportunity to cause major problems in the PSG with Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Rashford.
