Pep Guardiola states that Jadon Sancho didn't want to "take the challenge" to try to secure a regular place at Manchester City.
The 18-year-old took a huge career decision in the summer of 2017, leaving the city to enter Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho has had a significant impact in the Bundesliga with eight goals and 10 assists this season.
And his impressive performances have alerted Manchester United, who is ready to make a move in the next transfer window.
Guardiola praised Sancho's "incredible" exhibitions for Dortmund, but says that the winger lost the opportunity to find out if he could have voted in the city.
& # 39; I don't know. He didn't want to take this challenge, this opportunity to find out if he could do it, "said Guardiola.
& # 39; Decided to go there. So it's perfect.
"It's going well and congratulations on what you're doing.
"He's doing an incredible performance. He did it incredibly well this season.
& # 39; What would have happened this season [at City]? I do not know.
"Again, with the players, it depends on them and what they do on the field."
