Introduction of the Lexus LY 650 luxury yachtLexus

This is the LY 650, a first luxury yacht from the Japanese car company Lexus. It is a continuation of the company's Sport Yacht Concept and will be the first production vessel to express the "L-finesse" design theme of the brand on the water. Boat builder Marquis-Larson Boat Group will build, sell and maintain the ship when it goes into production in 2019.

LY 650 is the first production maritime expression of Lexus design language, L-finesseLexus

Lexus has been pretty brave lately, he let go and explored the art of craftsmanship with a strong Japanese twist, as can be seen in the latest cars. For example, the flagship LS 500h, which was recently steered, contains some unique features, such as the hand-pleated door panels and optional glassware based on the old Japanese "Kiriko" technique. With this latest LY 650, Lexus will continue to explore its design identity, using its heritage and presentation of the Lexus Takumi craft skills, especially with the interior. Executive vice president, Shigeki Tomoyama, says it is his wish to present "a dream-like vision of the luxury lifestyle, a true Lexus Yacht extending the potential of Lexus mobility to the ocean."

The first completed Lexus LY 650 is expected to be completed in the second half of 2019Lexus

Many of the functions that have been introduced in the Sport Yacht Concept has been translated into production for the LY 650. The study vessel was first unveiled in January last year in Miami and won a special prize at the Japan International Boat Show in March. Designed by the Lexus internal team, the idea was to find ways to explore luxury and active lifestyles. It was also about researching new materials and powertrains. For example, the hull, inner structure and superstructure of the 42-foot-wide sports cruiser are made of hand-laid carbon fiber, vacuum-injected with two-part polyurethane resin. Power is provided by two marine-specification versions of the 5.0-liter Lexus V8 engine, seen in the RC F coupé and GS F sedan performance models and the new LC 500 coupé. The concept yacht was developed by Toyota & # 39; s Marine Division and a single, working proof-of-concept was also built in collaboration with the Marquis-Larson Boat Group.

The new yacht has luxurious passenger cabins under deck and space to accommodate up to 15 guestsLexus

With its 65 foot total length, 19-foot beam shape, LY 650 production yacht has a strong, pronounced arch, curved deck accents and accentuated rear hips. Viewed from the profile, the elegant rise and fall of the roof line of the yacht, in line with that of Lexus cars, flows into the rising broad hips of the rear. The new yacht has luxury passenger cabins under deck and space to accommodate up to 15 guests. Connected services using the company's new Mobility Services Platform will provide security features, smartphone integration, remote diagnostics, maintenance and other services.

The 65-foot Lexus yacht joins the LS sedan and LC coupe as the third flagship of LexusLexus

The hunting plan is part of a larger strategy to enter other creative worlds – non-automotive projects – for inspiration. This includes the annual design awards at Salone del Mobile, the film projects, the culinary work and now the yacht building. CEO, Yoshihiro Sawa, describes his vision for Lexus to "explore new ways to deliver innovative and amazing experiences for our guests."

The first completed Lexus LY 650 is expected to be completed in the second half of 2019 and will make its worldwide debut late in the year. Specifications, prices and other details will be announced at a later date.
