LibreOffice 6.2 released
The Document Foundation has announced the release of LibreOffice 6.2. The new version of the free office suite now officially offers the new menu concept with its three variants and brings many other improvements.

Half a year after LibreOffice 6.1, LibreOffice 6.2 is now ready, as the Document Foundation announced. LibreOffice 6.2 has been redesigned in numerous places. The notebook bar developed in recent versions has been further refined and is now officially available in all components of the suite. Users can choose from three variants. The "tabbed" variant has the largest matches with the ribbon menu of Microsoft products. The classic menu is still available.
The actual functionality of the office suite has not changed significantly. However, some minor improvements and useful additions to the functionality have been added. In the Writer of the word processor, spreadsheet data can be copied to spreadsheets instead of just inserting them as objects. In the Calc spreadsheet, you can now use the regression tool to perform multivariate regression analyzes. In addition, many other statistical measurements are available in the analysis. The function is also new
regex, In Impress, the presentation program and Draw, the graphical program, you can change the motion path of animations by moving the control points. Added new character styles for text and a submenu for formatting tables in Draw.

The help system of LibreOffice 6.2 has been further improved and, among other things, makes it easier to search for keywords. The context menu & # 39; s are cleaned up and made more consistent in all components of the suite. The speed of LibreOffice 6.2 has increased in many places, especially the slow control of changes in large documents has been speeded up drastically. Interoperability with own file formats has also been improved. This also applies to documents created with old versions of MS Office. The emphasis was on diagrams and animations, as well as document security, encryption and cryptographic checksums.
LibreOffice Online, a server-based version of LibreOffice, also comes with some improvements. This simplified and accelerated the user interface on mobile devices. Furthermore, the keyboard has been updated on the screen. LibreOffice Online is available as a Docker image.

LibreOffice 6.2 is initially recommended to anyone who can be enthusiastic about what's new, while companies and organizations have to wait to update. LibreOffice 6.2 is now available on the download page. It is probably the latest version for which the project offers 32-bit binary packages.
