BETHLEHEM, PA – A man from Bethlehem is facing an assault after he allegedly punched a pregnant woman in the face and threw her down after a discussion on Facebook.
The Bethlehem police were sent to a Broadway apartment shortly after 10:30 on Tuesday to investigate a domestic dispute between the victim and Victor A. Cordova, according to court data.
The victim told police that Cordova started arguing with her on a Facebook friend request. During the discussion, she told him, "Brother, you act like you send a message to the boy," according to the records.
This would have made Cordova take her in the face and tell her to repeat it. He presumably proceeded to punch her in the face and break the victim's glasses. When the victim told him he would call the police, he would punish him in the face again.
When he left the apartment, Cordova followed her and pushed her, dropping the victim three or four steps. Police said the victim is pregnant with Cordova's son.
The police accused Cordova of having single counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. District Judge Nancy Matos Gonzalez signed an agreement with the 21-year-old after filing a $ 75,000 bail.
He failed to send the deposit and was sent to Northampton County Prison to await a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 5th.
