CAPE TOWN – DJ Cleo has landed in hot water with some fans after sharing a post on social media that seems to support the convicted rapist Sipho "Brickz" Ndlovu.

Ndlovu and Cleo, the real name is Cleopas Monyepao, were reunited this week when a non-profit organization, Humanitarian Empowerment Fund, hosted a sporting event as part of its rehabilitation efforts in a West Rand prison. Even local soccer players were invited to the event.

Cleo's tweet has aroused indignation among social media users. He said: "We run all our races, he fell along the way … but the race is not over (sic)".

Other fans praised the DJ for his post and supported Cleo's support for Brickz.

The kwaiti star was found guilty of raping her 16-year-old niece at her home in Ruimsig on West Rand in 2013.
