JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israel handed a legislation on Thursday to declare that only Jews have the proper to self-dedication in the country, a member of the Arab minority called racist and verging on apartheid.

The "nation-state" legislation, backed by the proper-wing federal government, passed by a vote of 62-fifty five and two abstentions in the one hundred twenty-member parliament soon after months of political argument. Some Arab lawmakers shouted and ripped up papers after the vote.
