Islamabad: Pakistan has summoned India’s Deputy Large Commissioner J P Singh above the alleged harassment of officials and families of the Pakistan Large Commission in New Delhi, in accordance to Pakistan Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Singh was summoned soon after Pakistani newspaper Dawn quoted Pakistani officials accusing India of harassing its diplomats and their people in the country and threatened to pull out the households if the intimidation did not end.
He was summoned by Director General (South Asia & SAARC) Mohammad Faisal and a robust protest was lodged at the “maltreatment being meted out to the officers and family members of the Pakistan Higher Commission in New Delhi”, in accordance to a statement by the Business office of Spokesperson of Pakistan International Affairs Ministry in Islamabad.
Faisal emphasised that below the Vienna Convention, the basic safety and the security of Pakistani diplomats and their family members is the accountability of the Indian authorities.
